If you were planning a family vacation to Disney?

would you try to combine a disneyworld park stay with a disney caribbean cruise? Like say… 3 days at disneyworld then a 5 night caribbean cruise??? Has anyone done this or have any suggestions? I ask on behalf of a family member. Thanks!

Yes. We’ve done this twice. It was great!!! It was several years ago, when our daughter was little. We did the 4-night cruise, then a week in Disney both times. I’ve heard other people who have combined their vacations like this too. Some like to do the cruise first, some like to do the cruise after the parks. Either way—you’ll love it. Have fun!

Would a Disney Cruise or a Disney Park be better for a two year old?

My daughter just turned 2 years old and i was thinking of taking a family vacation. My deceiding between the disney cruise Line or Walt Disney world. For the cruise by that time she will be 2 and 1/2 years old. I just want all of us to have fun. But I dont know which one would be funner for her. She is my first child and I just want some feedback and advice from others.

Thanks!

I think the cruise would be a better choice at this age… you’ll be closer to your room in case she needs a nap or a break from it all… there will be way less running around… and you should be able to enjoy the cruise as well.

Getting married on a Disney Cruise ship?

I am under the impression that my fiance and I will need to be officially married before the actual on board ceremony, is that right? Is there any way around this?

We are thinking of the Disney dream, the outlook.
Thoughts/opinions?

yes, that is correct. the officers on board disney cruise ships are not eligable to perform legal wedding ceremonies and they only do the fake "fantasy thing".

if you want to get around that, you can bring your own wedding officiant on board with you, but they will have to have a ticket to join you on the cruise and it would have to be an officiant who is able to perform legal ceremonies on international waters or at the cay, if you choose the beach wedding.

ships officers and/or captains are not normally considered to be legal wedding officiants. that is just an old wives tale left over from days of old. in order to perform a legal wedding, an officiant must be an ordained minister, a judge, a clerk of court or in some states, a notery is acceptable.

you will need to ask the people at disney which state laws their weddings are subject to in order to know what state laws you need to go by, and where you need to get your marriage license. if you want to ask a friend or family member to do the wedding for you, they can pay for an ordination to do it from this site. http://www.firstnationministry.com/ they have the requirements for each state listed by state. choose the state which disney tells you is the one which applies to the legalities of their cruises.

if you just want to be married on a boat, there are lots of other options where the captain is also a legalized wedding officiant and can perform your wedding, but if you specifically want a disney cruise then you will either have to provide your own officiant or get married before you leave.

Disney Cruises- Help?!?

Hi everyone!

Okay, so I have never been on a Disney cruise before. I have been with Royal 14 times, and am dying to try Disney. Many of my friends have been on it and say its spectacular. I’ve been to DisneyWorld 7 times, and if I find spending one day at a park amusing, an entire Disney cruise must rock!

The only problem I have is, that my parents refuse to go on a Disney cruise. They have made several claims about them (which they cannot support because they’ve never been on Disney), like:
1) It’s all little kids screaming and going crazy, there is no quiet onboard
2) All of the kids pee in all of the pools, therefore they aren’t clean and gross
3) Everyone gets sick on disney cruises, from being around small children that could be sick
4) The cruise is generally just for little kids, and anyone past the age of 8 or 9 would find no enjoyment on it.

I am desperately trying to prove my parents wrong with this, but they just won’t listen.
I need the help of all of the disney cruisers out there!

Write a comment stating why the above claims are right/wrong. Anything helps!

Thank you!!!!

Courtney <3

I suggest that your parents speak with a travel agent, since a travel agent does not represent Disney and really has no prejudice one way or another. However, if your parents are adamant, nothing will convince them to spend the significantly higher price to go on Disney and you will just have to accept that. (Prices are a LOT higher.)

Everyone I know who has sailed with Disney has had a wonderful time, and that includes the full range of ages. There is no casino on board any Disney ship, but unlike other ships Disney does have "adults only" areas. It IS possible to avoid lots of kids by hiding out in the adult-only area, but otherwise it truly is a kid-fest that many adults do not like.

As to health and sanitation on board any cruise ship, you can find the actual inspection reports and scores of inspections conducted by the Centers for Disease Control simply by going to the CDC web site. I believe you can also get safety inspection reports by the US Coast Guard, and suspect those might be available on that web site.

Personally, I would not choose to sail with Disney (and will not sail with Carnival). When I pay significantly higher prices for cruises I go with Cunard or splurge on a nicer cabin with Holland America.
