Disney Fantasy Bids Farewell to Meyer Werft Shipyard

The Disney Fantasy, disney cruise Line’s newest ship, departed on January 20, 2012, from her birthplace in Papenburg, Germany during a unique process known as “conveyance.” In a delicate and complex maneuver, the Disney Fantasy was pulled backwards by tugboats from the Meyer Werft shipyard down the winding Ems River to Eemshaven. Members of the community seemed just as proud as they watched and cheered along the ship’s 30-mile journey.
